The month of January proved to be a very tough trading period for ALL businesses. As the recession takes hold, people are naturally going to cut back and that is exactly what they are doing. Businesses are going to the wall daily and subsequently job losses are being seen on a vast scale.
It is easy to get sucked in to the doom and gloom but I am not going to do that. Along with my Operations Manager we visited all five stores together on Saturday and I was extremely proud of them all. The stores looked bright and clean and full of stock and if our customers were looking for somewhere to spend their hard earned cash, those stores were the place to do so !
I got feedback from numerous customers that our products were good and our prices were very competitive. As always, the team were upbeat and keen to help our customers. It is fair to say, everywhere was buzzing and I arrived home confident that we were helping to make a difference. In many places these days, shopping has become something to be endured not enjoyed. If the weather and economy is looking a bit bleak, cheer yourself up and come and visit one of our stores. You wont be disappointed!
