We have been having lots of fun celebrating British Food and Farm Fortnight here at James Graven.
Our local suppliers have been hosting tasting sessions in store and we have worked with the PCSOs to provide fun for young people by arranging speed tests with a lasertec speed gun. Cycles and scooters have been engraved for our customers - so a bit on an olympic theme for the event too.
Next week, we are having a hog roast which will be prepared by our nstoe butcher, Pete - all proceeds from this and the raffle will go to the Liam Fairhurst Foundation.
We love workng with both our local community and local supp
liers.
We are delighted at James Graven to be able to support a most remarkable young man - Callum Fairhurst - in his fund raising endeavors.
Raising funds for the Liam Fairhurst Foundation, a charity formed following the death of his elder brother to raise funds to help young people with illnesses and disabilities. We suported Callum's virtual row of the atlantic and hosted various collections at our Soham store. Nex weekend we will be hosting a community hog roast and raffle for this remarkable charity.

We were delighted that one of our fabulous members of staff, Wendy, was recently voted to be the Soham Townsperson of the Year.
Wendy fronts up our Baby Budgens at a sheltered housing unit in Soham - ensuring that the shop is stocked with oodies for the residents, special orders and even arranging special events for the residents.

Happy First Birthday to our Baby Budgens in Millbrook House.
Our wonderful Wendy who is the regular team member who runs the store had arranged a birthday party for the residents. Home made cake, candles, balloons and Budgens party food all made for a fun morning for the residents and carers.
A raffle was also held which raised funds for the residents social club.
This store is a real community store with products supplied at residents requests and everybody knowing each others names. I love calling in to say Hi to everyone and with 47 more units becoming available soon, it will be busier than ever.
Here's to the next Birthday party!!

At Dersingham we hosted a library awareness day in store.
Working closely with our local village librarian, we had a day to encourage our customers to use this valuable community resource more. Leaflets detailing all of the special events and regular activities were handed out and both staff and customers were signed up on the day to become members.
Libraries are a valuable resource for all sectors of the community and with funding cuts need local people to "use it or loose it"
